Procurement Infrastructure owns the software systems which generate purchase orders to procure hundreds-of-billions of dollars’ worth of retail inventory each year. It's important that we reliably create, store, update, and convey purchase orders to thousands of vendors, then listen and act when they reply with signals regarding their ability to fulfill those orders, helping to ensure that Amazon will have the products in-stock that our customers want and love. The systems and interfaces our business uses are a mixture of leading-edge technologies (ex: AWS cloud services, GenAI-powered agents) and legacy or proprietary technologies (ex: EDI, Amazon private cloud, Amazon proprietary data warehouse). As the Software Development Manager III of Procurement Infrastructure, you will lead and motivate a talented, diverse 2-pizza team that develops and maintains business critical supply chain software systems. Our web services have over 400 internal system clients, and powers internal and customer-facing portals that serve tens-of-thousands of business users. In 2026, your team will own development of a GenAI-powered agent that takes requests for PO or chargeback changes from internal resources, collects additional data or context, and then determines and executes an optimal mitigation based on the user’s input.
