Job description

Zappos is seeking a Web Development Engineer to drive the vision, development, and optimization of our customer-facing digital shopping experience. This role owns both the technical execution and operational content delivery across Zappos’ homepage, landing pages, editorial collections, promotions, and seasonal storytelling surfaces. You will help accelerate front-end innovation while ensuring flawless daily execution of site content. As a technical leader embedded in the Marketing organization, you will collaborate closely with Designers, Merchandisers, Creative, UX, and Software Development partners to build scalable components, improve workflows, and deliver a best-in-class customer experience across web and mobile. You will balance hands-on engineering work with day-to-day content publishing, ensuring accuracy, speed, and brand alignment. The ideal candidate is a customer-obsessed builder with strong UI development skills, operational discipline, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities Build and maintain scalable, reusable components and templates used across customer-facing surfaces. Implement responsive, accessible, and high-performance UI in partnership with UX and Creative. Partner with engineers to troubleshoot front-end issues, resolve defects, and enhance CMS-driven workflows.
