Amazon Flex is at the forefront of delivery operations, owning a significant piece of Amazon's "Last Mile" delivery strategy at current & into the future. The Flex model utilizes independent contractors to help fulfill "ultrafast" customer deliveries from Amazon.com, Whole Foods, and beyond. Our Finance team works closely with Tech, Product & Program Managers to track performance reporting and support analysis for optimization of labor planning, pricing, routing, and expansion opportunities, which help improve safety, customer quality, and reduce costs.
With a rapidly expanding scope in Americas (US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil) team and scope, we are looking for a Finance Manager who is a strategic thinker and creative problem solver to support this hyper-growth business as part of the Americas Flex Finance team. This role partners with business leadership to provide strategic guidance and analytic/decision making support for evaluating and prioritizing projects or initiatives. This role will primarily support the existing RSR (Rural and Super Rural) US business and Flex's further expansion into rural and remote areas in the US and beyond. You will partner with Flex and cross-functional business leaders across internal Amazon verticals and the Last Mile organization. Be part of the journey in this exciting space and help make history!
This role requires a self-starter with strong business modelling skills, keen attention to detail, and a good track record of influencing business partners. This role has regular interaction with senior leadership and stakeholders across Amazon and requires excellent verbal and written communication skills for L8+ audiences. The candidate will need to be capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy, and hence needs to demonstrate a high degree of comfort with ambiguity.
Key job responsibilities
• Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon. These decisions can have global impact.
• Collaborate with multiple finance teams and business partners to develop detailed financial plans that relate to operational metrics, and harmonize with the business' goals and capabilities.
• Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs and provide guidance and financial analysis for new projects and initiatives. You make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure.
• Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively. Improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.
• Participate in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members.
• Querying (basic SQL preferred) and analyzing a broad array of financial and operations metrics, and translating discoveries into actionable insights.

About the team
Our teams is a strategic partner to the Flex Americas org under Nick Jones. We perform critical analyses and deliver insights to support decision making, and translate decisions back into financial narratives and plans. We also partner closely with our sibling finance teams: WW Flex FP&A, WW Flex Strategy, and APAC/EU Flex Finance to exchange best practices and continuously improve the quality and completeness of our craft, and to ensure that financial plans are in lock step with the business.
- 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)- 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
