The Building Operations Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The Building Technician serves as a technical resource to support Amazon within its data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. Building Technician’s are also tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities. Building Technician’s are Amazon’s front line respondents for electrical and mechanical issued affecting Amazon's availability. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, switchboards/switch-gears, UPS’s, PDU’s, AHU’s, CRAHUs, CRAC's, pumps, motors, VFD’s, and building automation systems.
This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.

Amazon recrute actuellement un technicien de bâtiment pour rejoindre l’équipe d’exploitation de nos centres de données.
Le technicien principal (TP) est chargé de veiller à ce que tous les équipements électriques, mécaniques et de sécurité incendie du centre de données fonctionnent à leur niveau maximum d'efficacité. Ceci implique un entretien préventif planifié de l'équipement, des travaux correctifs quotidiens et des interventions d'urgence. Ces points doivent être au centre de toutes les opérations d'installation au sein d'un centre de données donné. Le TP gère les projets de petite et moyenne envergure, de la conception à l'achèvement, obtient et suit les devis pour tous les coûts nécessaires et documente les résultats des projets en vue de leur mise en œuvre future dans d'autres installations. Le TP soutient les techniciens des opérations d’ingénierie et tout fournisseur tiers en leur offrant son aide pour le fonctionnement et des dépannages d'équipements électriques et mécaniques sur le terrain. Ces équipements comprennent, sans s'y limiter, les génératrices diesel de secours, les appareils de commutation, les alimentations sans interruption (ASI), les unités de distribution d’alimentation (PDU), les unités de traitement d'air (AHU), les tours de refroidissement, les systèmes de traitement chimique, les pompes, les moteurs, les variateurs de fréquence (VFD) et les systèmes immotiques. Cette équipe travaille dans un environnement qui fonctionne 24/24 et 7 /7.

The starting pay for this position is listed below. Amazon is a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials, overtime pay, and performance bonuses where applicable. Final pay rate will be based on factors including shift selection, location, and experience. In addition, Amazon offers basic life & AD&D insurance, paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
