Job description
from Amazon careersDo you like working with advanced engineering teams to solve pressing technical problems? Do you have a knack for helping companies understand application architectures and integration approaches? Would you like to help some of the best known AWS Partners to grow their managed services provider business in the cloud?
As a Partner Solution Architect within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS. Your broad responsibilities will include owning the technical engagement with strategic partners and sharing knowledge about partner offerings with other teams.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical skill in enterprise architecture, software deployment, cloud computing as well as customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organisation. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges that come with new business creation.
Key job responsibilities
As a strategic member of the AWS Partner Core Solutions Architect team, you will act as a trusted advisor to our Marketplace partners. This includes:
• Providing the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote successful engagements with partners across the Asia Pacific and Japan.
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to Partners to enable them to list their products in the AWS Marketplace.
• Guide and coach partners how to improve their product listing, features, and architecture to simplify ongoing support, feature evolution, and maintenance of that software, often in a multi-tenanted software as a service (SaaS) configuration
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge with our broader Solution Architect community.
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS partner facing, and customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, and blogs.
• Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within Partners to enable them to be cloud advocates
• Act as a technical liaison between Partners, service engineering teams and support.
Some APJ travel may be required.
A day in the life
A typical day as a Marketplace Partner SA involves joining architecture review calls to validate partner solution designs and writing code samples and integration guides for their engineering teams.
You will conduct hands-on workshops demonstrating AWS service integration patterns and collaborate with peer AWS teams on partner opportunities.
Between meetings, you update technical documentation, troubleshoot partner deployment issues, and build assets that help you scale your impact worldwide.
Strategic conversations with partner product managers, CPOs, and CTOs help align roadmaps. You create demo environments showcasing joint solutions and present them directly to partner customers, while serving as a critical feedback channel to AWS service teams based on partner requirements.
About the team
The Partner Core Tech team exists to build the world's most technically capable Partner community, delivering resounding impact for customers through innovative, scalable mechanisms grounded in real-world experience.
We treat partners individually while building outcomes for scale: developing integration patterns, reference architectures, and enablement programs that create broad impact across the partner network.
Our technologists stay at the forefront of AWS technologies and best practices, sharing this expertise through hands-on workshops, code samples, and direct collaboration that elevates partner technical capabilities.
Recognising that we can't be on every call, we scale through the field by building in others the resources, knowledge, and connections they need to drive customer success.
Above all, we prioritize collaborative partnerships built on trust and transparency, working with partners who share our commitment to exceptional customer outcomes and are willing to invest in technical excellence alongside us.
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
