Job description

from Amazon careers
Join us at the forefront of Amazon's sustainability initiatives to work on environmental and social advancements to support Amazon's long term worldwide sustainability strategy. At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people.

The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon’s scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.

Amazon co-founded The Climate Pledge, our commitment to reach net-zero carbon across our global operations by 2040. As part of the Worldwide Environment team, Amazon's Worldwide Carbon team is dedicated to working across the company with our business units to make operational changes to accelerate solutions and decarbonize our businesses in service of The Climate Pledge.

The Supplier Decarbonization team is looking for an experienced leader to own and scale Amazon's supplier engagement strategy. This individual will lead efforts to ensure Amazon's suppliers are setting decarbonization targets, sharing progress, and taking verified action to reduce emissions. In this builder role, you will develop new engagement models, build capacity through strategic partnerships and programs, and route suppliers to sustainability solutions. You will work across business units, procurement
teams, and external partners to drive measurable supplier action at scale.

This role requires a strategic leader who operates at the intersection of supplier relationship
management, program design, and enterprise-scale execution. You will build the engagement
infrastructure including partnerships, cohort models, and maturity-based pathways that convert supplier commitments into verified emissions reductions

Key job responsibilities
- Architect and evolve the global top supplier engagement strategy, including segmentation by decarbonization maturity, sector, and regional context
- Design and scale supplier cohort models that build capacity across groups of suppliers with shared characteristics, challenges, or geographies
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with external consultancies, industry coalitions, and service providers to extend engagement capacity beyond internal headcount
- Create supplier routing logic that matches suppliers to the right solutions (CFE pathways, low-carbon materials, carbon credits, TCP Joint Action Projects) based on their maturity and readiness
- Own the engagement lifecycle from initial outreach through plan adoption and verified action, iterating based on supplier feedback and conversion data
- Develop scalable engagement methodologies, from high-touch strategic engagements for top-emitting suppliers to automated, self-serve pathways for the long tail
- Engage with senior leadership on program strategy, resourcing, and progress against S-team and VP decarbonization goals
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier conversion rates through data analysis, A/B testing of engagement approaches, and cohort performance benchmarking
- Coordinate with Amazon Sustainability Exchange (ASX) team to ensure supplier-facing tools and resources meet the needs of suppliers at varying maturity levels
