Amazon Air’s (AIR) Network Control Center (NCC) is seeking an Air Operations Controller to help ensure the safe, compliant, and on-time performance of our dedicated air network. In this role, you will actively monitor aircraft and package movement across the network, proactively identifying risks and resolving potential disruptions before they impact operations.

You will play a critical role in maintaining network stability by managing capacity, overseeing the flow of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and baggage, and coordinating with air carriers, ground handlers, and internal stakeholders. This includes developing and executing service recovery plans, responding to irregular operations such as delays or cancellations, and escalating critical issues to leadership when needed.

Success in this role requires continuous situational awareness—you’ll assess real-time operational performance, analyze forecasted weather impacts, and communicate updates across teams to ensure alignment. You’ll also support leadership by analyzing data, preparing reports, and contributing insights for operational and executive-level discussions. This is a fast-paced, 24/7 operation, and the role requires flexibility to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Amazon Air leverages data-driven, process-oriented operations to deliver for both internal and external customers every day. Our team thrives on solving complex challenges collaboratively, valuing diverse perspectives and innovative thinking. Every team member is empowered to contribute ideas, drive improvements, and make a meaningful impact.

Drug Test Requirement
- This position requires an employee’s full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute their job duties to ensure the safety and security of Amazon Air personnel, third-party contractors, Airport personnel, cargo, and equipment. This position is therefore designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and, where permitted, post-hire drug testing.

- Monitor all inbound/outbound customer package movements and escalate issues as required to protect the flight schedule
- Develop and execute effective service recovery plans as necessary
- Liaise with AIR's air carriers, ground handlers, and other service providers to help facilitate on-time operations

- Review, analyze, and monitor present and forecast weather conditions for all assigned areas of operation
- Partner with all stakeholders to resolve irregularities, disruptions, cancellations, extended delays, or other impactful issues
- Escalate significant issues to NCC Air Operations Managers for visibility and resolution
- Monitor and manage AIR network capacity
- Monitor and manage capacity of ULDs and bags across the AIR network
- Support leadership by analyzing data, preparing reports, and providing other relevant information for operations meetings or executive leadership briefings
- Work variable shifts which will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Travel up to 10% of the time

A day in the life
Your day begins by reviewing the current network status, including flight schedules, weather, and capacity constraints. Throughout your shift, you’ll monitor aircraft and package movement in real time, proactively identifying and resolving potential disruptions. You’ll coordinate with air carriers, ground teams, and internal stakeholders to keep operations on track, while managing ULD and network capacity. When issues arise, you’ll develop and execute recovery plans and escalate as needed. In a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, you’ll continuously communicate updates and make data-driven decisions to ensure safe, on-time performance across the network.
