Prime Video Advertising is one of Amazon's newest and fastest-growing businesses, offering advertisers unprecedented reach across premium content including Amazon Originals, Live Sports, and more.
We are looking for an experienced and driven business leader to lead the growth of Prime Video Advertising in Japan. You will be responsible for growing advertising supply and revenue for Prime Video across all ads monetization programs in Japan, and for advocating for the role of advertising in Prime Video Japan’s long-term business strategy. You will work with local Content Partnership and global Ad Tech teams to increase ad supply, with local Ad Sales and Marketing teams to generate ad demand, and with global Ad Product teams to manage the advertising experience for Prime Video customers. As Strategy Manager, you will partner with Finance and Business Intelligence teams to develop appropriate tracking mechanisms, lead ads-related business reviews with senior leadership, and represent ads-related workstreams in Prime Video business reviews.
To be successful, you will need to understand the dynamic between ad supply and demand in streaming TV, to have a keen eye for financials, to be able to write clear, compelling business narratives, and to be able to work cross-functionally with business and tech.
You will have relevant work experience within the Consumer Tech, Ad Sales or Ad Tech industry in roles such as business planning, commercial leadership, category management or product management. Experience within ad sales or an advertising-driven business in Japan is a plus. Comfortable in spoken Japanese is a plus. You will have experience in defining the strategic vision and long-term roadmap for a business or suite of products, as well as experience in writing business or product proposals, defining business requirements and working with engineering teams to launch new features.
This is an individual contributor role.
Key job responsibilities
- Own weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of Prime Video Japan Advertising performance and key project status
- Own the advertising experience for Prime Video customers in Japan, including defining appropriate customer experience guardrails
- Work with global Finance and Ad Supply teams to set goals for Prime Video ad supply in Japan, track progress against those goals, and define action plans to increase ad supply
- Set and achieve Ad Free subscriber goals
A day in the life
- Review weekly/monthly advertising performance metrics, identify any areas to dive deep
- Manage operational syncs between local Prime Video and Ads teams, and local and global Prime Video Advertising teams
- Check advertising CX is intended
- Provide input to global Product teams for upcoming feature launches
- Discuss potential local ad policy changes
- Support local Ads team with their go to market and sales strategies
- Provide inputs to Finance teams for forecast updates
- Represent advertising in local Prime Video business discussions
- Bachelor's degree, or MBA in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Experience working with teams and executive leadership in a complex enterprise environment
- Experience working with engineering and product teams to define a product and bring it to market
- Experience engaging, verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- Experience in defining the strategic vision and long-term roadmap for a business or suite of products

Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of digital advertising, product marketing, consulting, business development, or other customer-facing role experience- Bachelor's degree, or MBA in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
