Software Dev Engineer II, AWS Elemental Inference

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with applied scientists and research teams to bring innovations to life, translating breakthrough research into production-ready systems that serve customers at scale. You'll be regularly reviewing and implementing the latest advancements in machine learning, computer vision, and video understanding.
Key job responsibilities
- Shipping production code to solve complex problems in video encoding and AI-driven video processing, ensuring our LIVE and VOD workflows are robust and reliable.
- Working with product management and developers to design and drive the delivery of new AI-powered customer features, translating innovative ideas into operational software.
- Devising solutions to improve the performance, scalability, and resiliency of our services, including automated tools that leverage machine learning for content optimization.
- Participating in code reviews and design reviews to help the team identify sharp edges, look around corners, follow best practices, and improve the quality of their code.
- Mentoring team members through the design and implementation of new features and service improvements, with a focus on best practices in AI workflow design and MLOps.
- Helping with operational tooling and improvements, including coming up with metrics and dashboards to monitor our AI-enhanced systems and ensure smooth, real-time processing at scale.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
