Senior Python Engineer — Connectors & Performance
Alteryx · Prague, Czech Republic
Meet the Moment with Alteryx
We're living through a once-in-a-generation shift in how work gets done. Data, automation, and AI are quickly becoming the center of every business decision - and Alteryx is leading the transformation.
You'll be working on the challenges that sit at the heart of modern business. No matter your role, the work you do will help organizations move faster, see more clearly, and tackle questions that used to feel impossible.
If you're ready to meet the moment with innovation, curiosity, and excellence, there's a place for you here.
You’ll build small, highly performant components that integrate with external services reliably at scale. These connectors are critical infrastructure — when they fail, customers notice. When they’re fast and stable, everything just works.
This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about correctness, performance, and clean architecture — and who enjoys solving tricky integration problems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement high-performance Python connectors used in both desktop and cloud environments
- Make architectural decisions that prioritize performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Integrate complex third-party APIs (rate limits, retries, authentication flows, pagination, edge cases)
- Diagnose and resolve production issues that require deep system understanding
- Improve internal standards around code quality, testing, and performance benchmarking
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver robust end-to-end solutions
- You’ve spent 5+ years writing Python in production systems
- You understand API integration beyond “it works locally”
- You think about retries, idempotency, observability, and backoff strategies
- You care about performance at both code and system levels
- You’re comfortable working across desktop and cloud environments
- You value clarity over cleverness
Nice to have:
- Experience with gRPC and protobuf
- Experience with Microsoft Graph APIs
- Familiarity with Docker and GitLab CI
- Experience building systems that run in both desktop and cloud contexts
