Shape the future of the Akamai Connected Cloud

You will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on Akamai's growing cloud offerings requiring a combination of software programming, computer networking and debugging skills. With your expertise, you will help to create Akamai's next-generation Cloud Load Balancer. You must have a passion to get things done and get them done right.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the development of the Cloud Load Balancer and other cloud-networking technologies.
• Assisting in the integration of cloud-networking tools and learning to work within complex system architectures.
• Participating in code reviews and knowledge-sharing initiatives to foster a culture of continuous learning.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrate expertise in OOP principles and practical experience with at least one widely used object-oriented programming language.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python while being open to learning and working with additional languages such as C++ or Go.
• Write, test, and debug clean, maintainable code effectively within complex software systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
• Demonstrate expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and proficiency operating within Linux-based environments.
