Senior Backend Engineer (Java) – Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RTCDP)
Adobe · Bucharest, Bucureşti, Romania · Design
Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RTCDP) enables enterprises to unify customer data and activate it in real time across digital experiences.
The RTCDP Collaboration team builds the systems that allow organizations to securely share and activate data across companies while maintaining strong privacy, governance, and performance standards.
The team builds services responsible for secure data sharing, real-time data processing, and orchestration across enterprise data platforms.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and build the distributed services that power this capability — including Java-based backend systems, event-driven pipelines, and cloud-native platform services.

Design and build Java-based backend services and microservices
Develop event-driven systems and data pipelines using technologies such as Kafka
Build and evolve workflow orchestration services coordinating cross-system processes
Design reliable APIs and backend services used by multiple Adobe products
Contribute to architecture and system design decisions
Improve system reliability, observability, and performance
Own services through the full lifecycle — from design and implementation to production operations
Collaborate with engineers and product teams across multiple regions
Technology Stack
Examples of technologies used across the platform include:
Java / JVM ecosystem
Kafka and event-driven architectures
Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms

What We’re Looking For
9+ years of backend engineering experience
Strong expertise in Java and microservices architectures
Experience designing and operating distributed systems
Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar technologies)
Experience building data processing pipelines
Experience working with cloud-native environments
Strong understanding of system design, reliability, and performance
Nice to Have
Experience with Snowflake or modern cloud data warehouses
Experience with workflow orchestration systems (Temporal or similar)

Why Engineers Join This Team
Work on core platform services within Adobe Experience Platform
Build systems enabling secure enterprise data collaboration
Solve distributed systems and data platform challenges
Collaborate with experienced engineers across Adobe’s global engineering teams
This role is for engineers who want to understand not only how systems work — but why they matter.
In RTCDP Collaboration, you won’t just move data.
You will help enterprises connect, collaborate, and unlock value from their data in ways that directly impact their business success.
If that challenge excites you — let’s talk.
